On the liturgical calendar, this Sunday, November 2, is the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls Day).
The lectionary allows for any of the scriptures from the Masses for the Dead to be used on All Souls Day so the readings proclaimed may vary from parish to parish. It's likely, however, that many parishes will choose the three suggested on the USCCB website and linked here, along with brief commentary on the texts. Bringing kids to church with you?
